Optimise your exam preparation classes through personalisation

Malcolm Mann

Preparing teenagers for exams can be soulless and dry at times, and the tasks we get our students to do can be divorced from their lives and personal experience. In this session, we’re going to look at how to bring in an element of student-centred personalisation to exam classes to aid interest and motivation. We'll consider what personalisation means, particularly in terms of ELT, and why personalisation is important and useful for exam-preparation classes with teenagers. We'll explore how to keep personalisation teacher-driven while making sure it’s student-centred, and look at aspects of personalisation built into the course Optimise. We'll also cover some simple, practical and effective ways to further consolidate and extend exam-practice material through personalisation.
