Think big? You can! Unlocking students’ potential con Emma Heyderman
In a world where so much is handed to students ready-made, it’s easy for their curiosity, creativity and independent thinking to fade into the background. Yet these are exactly the skills our students need. In this lively, practical session, you’ll experience a range of activities that help students develop their critical thinking and creative expression in the classroom. We’ll explore simple ways to take everyday coursebook material and add a twist that boosts engagement, motivation and genuine thinking. Expect a mix of low-prep tasks and creative digital ideas you can take straight back to the classroom.
Feeling good? You should! English teachers and their amazing superpowers con David Spencer
Recently there has been a lot of attention paid to student wellbeing. And, fortunately, this has also made us start to think more about teacher wellbeing too. In this light-hearted, uplifting session my aim will be to remind you all of just how important our profession is, and to remind you of the many unique strengths and superpowers English teachers possess, but that we (and others) sometimes forget, or take for granted. My ultimate aim? For you to walk out of the session feeling great to be an English teacher! (Oh, and you should come away with a variety of practical, energising games and activities to use with your students too!)
