These sessions introduce middle school teachers to the practical applications of artificial intelligence in the classroom. They provide a clear understanding of AI, explore useful tools for teaching, and show how it can support lesson planning, personalized learning, and critical thinking.

Part 1 – Generative Tools for Creativity

This session aimed at middle school educators introduces teachers to the creative potential of generative AI. We will explore how to create short videos, add sound effects, and transform written text into audio into listening activities. With a focus on designing captivating, interactive classroom activities that boost engagement and language learning, we'll also keep it simple and accessible for busy teachers.

Andrew Howarth is an English language teacher, trainer, and consultant based in Verona. He has over 15 years’ experience working with schools, universities, and publishers across Italy, specializing in digital education and innovative classroom practice.. His recent work focuses on the practical use of AI tools to motivate students, support teachers, and make learning more engaging.  He is currently undertaking a Master’s degree in Digital Education with the University of Essex.
